Saturday’s sprint race at the Brazilian Grand Prix proved that Lewis Hamilton had been disqualified for qualifying for a technical infringement. He had to start the sprint at the back of the grid. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen was fined for touching Hamilton’s Mercedes car in poor conditions.

Valtteri Bottas had the lead on soft tyres, ousting Verstappen for first place in the sprint and securing pole position for Sunday. Verstappen went on to take a spot in the front row of the grid and two points to add to his lead in the drivers’ championship standings.

Meanwhile, Hamilton showed his class by rising from last place to fifth place. He would drop five places as the team replaced components in his engine, but he would be positioned to challenge for the podium.

This could be the week Verstappen took his name on the championship trophy. Or it could be the week Hamilton pushes back. You won’t want to miss it.
