After the game, which was won by Los Angeles 124–116, James declined to explain what fans had done to remove him. In vague terms, he said that he crossed a line with obscene gestures and words.
On his return from suspension, James finished with 39 points, five rebounds, six assists, one steal and two blocks. He kept a show despite Anthony Davis missing the game with flu-like symptoms.
