MLB Rumors: Besides the Dodgers, Who Are Most Likely to Sign Clayton Kershaw and Max Scherzer?

As the Los Angeles Dodgers continue in the NLCS, rumors swirl about whether they will retain Max Scherzer and Clayton Kershaw.

The Dodgers are rather busy staying in the Championship Series, but there are already questions about whether they will retain some of their biggest stars in the upcoming season.

Dodgers shortstop Corey Seeger is reportedly not concerned at this time about where he will be next year, despite winning MVP at the 2020 World Series with LA. Instead, Seeger is focused on finishing the series at hand, as are teammates Max Scherzer and Clayton Kershaw.

According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, the Dodgers remain the favorite to sign Scherzer and Kershaw in the coming season. But if the Dodgers miss out on resigning these two, Heyman has ideas for where they might end up instead.

Angels can sign Scherzer; Kershaw could be signed by Rangers

FanSided reported in September that Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout was recruiting Scherzer to come and play for another LA baseball team.

The Angels would be unlikely to be considered for Scherzer, as they have many connections to their current roster.

“Outfielder Justin Upton was a rookie with Scherzer with the Arizona Diamondbacks, and Rendon was Scherzer’s teammate in Washington for several seasons,” wrote FanSided’s Brad Bereman.

Earlier in February, Kershaw told the Los Angeles Times that he was unsure of his future in los angeles.

“I don’t know,” said Kershaw. “Honestly, I wish I had the answer.”

Kershaw has remained with the team since then, but the idea persists that Kershaw could “come back as a”hometown pickup“To the Texas Rangers.

If Scherzer and Kershaw don’t start next season with the Dodgers, Heyman seems to have a pulse on exactly where the star LA players will end up.
