Maria de Oliveira wants to return to the UFC octagon after her first experience.
UFC Vegas 41 is set to kick off Saturday, October 23 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Paulo Costa and Marvin Vettori is the main event scheduled, but the other 13 fights on the cards include a wealth of action. One includes Maria de Oliveira as she makes her first appearance at an actual UFC event.
Fans of The Dana White Contenders series may recognize Oliveira. She competed on the stage back in 2018, where she lost via technical knockout in the first round to current strawweight contender Marina Rodriguez.
After taking that defeat she returned to Brazil to compete twice, once in 2019 and again in 2021, winning both. His latest outing was a first-round knockout victory at Arena Global.
Oliveira’s career led him to Rizin before the UFC
Oliveira’s career began in Brazil, where he competed for several regional promotions that are important to MMA in that country. She first stepped onto the major MMA scene in 2017 when she competed for Rizin. She fought for that company twice, exchanging victories and defeats along the way. This stint at Rizin would lead to Opportunity on The Contender Series.
Oliveira brings up a 12-4 professional record in this bout.
Oliveira will face Tabatha Ricci, who is looking to bounce back from the first loss of her career to Manon Fiorot. His career also began in Brazil before becoming a mainstay in the Legacy Fighting Alliance.
